Avengers: Age of Ultron World Premiere

marvelgg

Today is the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron a.k.a. the movie I’ve been geeking about for three years now. In honor of this glorious event, I wanted to take a minute to share how wonderful and surreal it’s been to be part of the Marvel Family. For two years now, I’ve been hosting Marvel’s Live Red Carpet Show for all their world premieres.

For Thor: The Dark World, I co-hosted alongside Tamara Krinsky and E!’s Ben Lyons. This was my first time as part of the Disney/Marvel Universe, and man it felt good! Not only was I correspondent on the red carpet, I also MC’d a few events at the El Capitan theater afterwards with Stan Lee and Jamie Alexander.

For Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was just the two of us girls. I worked that red carpet for Cap, presenting from the heart of the television interview area, to the arrivals, and introducing the entire cast in a firework finish at the end of the carpet.

Last summer, which seems like just yesterday, I donned my favorite Jetsons-inspired outfit (and my only Jetsons-inspired outfit) for The Guardians of The Galaxy premiere. This was an especially incredible event as the premiere was held across the street from the usual El Capitan location to The Dolby Theater. You may have heard of this theater, I don’t know, maybe because of a little show called the Oscars? So, being on that stage, introducing the cast of Guardians of The Galaxy, and pretending I was Ellen was pretty much as good as the real thing as far as I’m concerned.

So, in honor of all the joy is this Universe has brought me, here are some of my favorite Marvel moments.

VICE: Japan’s War on Dance

So… this happened!

That expensive journalism degree from NYU was finally put to good use! Mom- I told you it would all be worth it!

I did a story for VICE’s Electronic Dance Music channel THUMP while I was in Tokyo. The story is about the Fuieho Law: an outdated law that is being used to ban dancing in nightclubs across Japan. Yes, Fuieho is a real thing.

This was a really new experience as I pitched, produced, and hosted the 12 minute segment. I’m really proud of how it came together and the team at VICE and THUMP is nothing short of amazing: supportive, smart, and talented. I’ve been a big fan of VICE News for some years now, binging on hard news stories like the ebola outbreak and ISIS. If you’re wondering what I do in my spare time, this is it. So, to get the opportunity to work with a company that I respect in so many ways was truly a dream come true.

Here it is- a look inside Japan’s War on Dance.

MSN Travel

How2Travelers made it to MSN!

Rachel and I were so excited when Trium Entertainment approached us to help write and produce a segment for MSN Travel. We’ve been working tirelessly for over a year on our travel digital series, How2Travelers, putting out new travel video content every week, so to do it for a major internet partner was pretty freaking amazing.

5 Unreal Bucket List Adventures was sooooo much fun to shoot. It went really quickly, despite Rachel and I making fun of each other the entire time. Luckily, a lot of that stuff made the final cut!

For all those doubters– who says two blonde chicks can’t be travel experts?? 😉

Check out the video HERE

Fun fact! This was shot on my birthday. And I say this without any irony, I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my big day than with my favorite travel buddy and doing something I absolutely love. <Sigh.> Or gag… Whichever suits your fancy.

Shake It Off Parody

T Swift 2.0 is back!!

The masterminds at Barely Political/Key of Awesome brought me in to take on the impossible: parody a video that’s already a parody. Yep, we took on Taylor Swift’s massive hit Shake It Off, and the results are above.

I flew into NYC and we hit the ground running. The other Taylor Swift video I did for Barely Political is actually my favorite parody, probably due to the whole acting-like-a-complete-lunatic-and-it-being-socially-acceptable thing, so I was really excited to take another crack at our version of the T Swift character.

Memorable moments from the shoot included being the last one to the boat on the hot dog legs things (had noooo idea, but now that I know, wow!), I cannot smack someone on the face- even if it’s a fake slap (ahhh!), and peeking at people’s camel toes is really tough on the knees and elbows.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the video! If you want to see more of my parodies- click here, here, and here.

Stereotude

This week I put down my red stapler, brought out my furry mug, and made a home for myself at SHANDY studios in Burbank to film lots of internet stories. This week I did double duty for Hollyscoop (celebrity news) and Stereotude (music news), which airs on Yahoo!, AOLOn, Huffington Post, and many more outlets.

While it was great to be back in a green room that is actually green (see above), it was even more fun to play with the new format of Stereotude’s music news stories. Two stories in one video– which is quite unique for internet news- AND I had to somehow find ways to make stories relate that were so completely different. Yes, this challenge was accepted with a hearty salsa girl emoji. If you don’t know what that is, I highly suggest you look it up and use it in an upcoming text message. It’ll change your life.

So here are the fruits of my labor: story producing, writing, gathering, hosting, and, of course, hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Who says a girl can’t do it all? 😉

Girl Talk

My favorite video- Ariana Grande and Kanye West. I somehow made this duo work!
