My #SuperSecretTravelTVShow

post1

Something big is happening!

You may recognize the pretty blonde in the picture as my How 2 Travelers co-host Rachel Rudwall. We are filming something together, which may sound extraordinarily dull as we film a YouTube show every week. BUT, this is different. It’s for TV, as in “OG”, linear television. It involves travel. AND… that’s about all I can tell you. Oh, besides the fact that it’s going to be your new guilty pleasure and I’m totally okay with that.

Until then, check my Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. I’ll be using the hashtag #SuperSecretTravelTVShow for all the posts where I can announce more information.

In the mean time, here are some exclusive behind the scenes photos from the shoot!

Enjoy! I can’t wait to share more with you soon!

What NOT To Do at the DMZ

p1020100The Ultra Family is headed back to Seoul, Korea this week for Ultra Korea, and what better way to celebrate than to reminisce about all the craziness that went down last year!

The festival was amazing (as always): Avicii, Kaskade, Tiesto, Krewella, Adventure Club, among many others graced the stage.

After the festival wrapped, we all went to Octagon nightclub to party some more. Sense a theme with these Ultra festivals?

I was one of the first ones to leave the club- at 6:30am!- and immediately went to the hotel to jump on a tour to the DMZ, or De-Militarized Zone of Korea. This is the place where North and South Korean soldiers are in a stand-off, separating the two countries. With just a quick nap on the bus ride, you can probably guess that I was probably not in the best shape… and I made a few mistakes.

What NOT To Do at the DMZ is our most viewed video to date on How 2 Travelers, and not surprisingly, our most controversial. While breaking rules that can harm people is extremely irresponsible (and NONE of that was done in this video), I think people are attracted to this piece because it’s relatable. We’re not perfect! And we don’t travel perfectly! We have all been there, trying to capture a photo at a museum or making a Queen’s Guard laugh when we are told to do the opposite. This is how people travel- sometimes following the pack, sometimes going off the beaten path. And that’s the goal of our travel series, to make the travel experience as real as possible so that even if you have never been to the specific place, you can relate to the experience.

So, take this video as an entertainment piece. And be the wiser for when you head off to the DMZ.

Congrats Cap!

Congratulations to Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier!

So much to celebrate!

So proud of everyone at Marvel and Disney. I am so honored to be a part of the Marvel Universe.

This was an excellent film all the way through, from the plot, acting, producing, writing, directing, producing, and incredible martial arts. The latter was so amazing that I have actually started taking Krav Maga lessons. Stay tuned for that blog post… if I’m still in one piece.

Now we just have to find ways to make the time go by before Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Cap is Back!! And Better Than Ever!!

I first heard whispers about the greatness of Captain America: The Winter Soldier when I was covering the Thor: The Dark WorlCapAppleBoxd premiere for Marvel. At that time, only the elevator scene had been released, and, wow, was that great foreshadowing for what was to come.

This movie is absolutely incredible. It’s a 70’s spy thriller meets Marvel cinematic craziness. The utilization of handheld camera movements, mixed martial arts fight scenes, and a modern-day plot keeps this movie “grounded,” but it still has all the wit, larger-than-life characters, and over-the-top special effects that we’ve come to expect from Marvel movies. To put it simply, I’m seriously contemplating whether this is my favorite Marvel movie- yes, even above Avengers and Iron Man.

It was such a pleasure to be working the red carpet again for Marvel. The red carpet live coverage for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier world premiere was streamed on Marvel.com, Yahoo!, Zing Revolution, and on the El Capitan Theater billboard.

I’m in a Music Video

Usually I am starring in parody music videos, but this time around I am in an actual music video. Sure, it was difficult trying to be serious for a change, but don’t worry, I got this whole “sleeping beauty” thing down.

Special thanks to Baby E for a great day on set. I had the honor of listening to both versions of “Sugar Don’t Let Me Down”– one with auto-tune and one without- and they both rock. I look forward to more from him in the future!
