Flashback Friday: MLS Season Opener with the Portland Timbers

This week marks the start of the 2017 MLS (Major League Soccer) season. It is a special moment, because exactly this time last year I was in Portland for my first MLS game and my first time as host of MLSsoccer.com’s Get Me In There. And boy was I spoiled!

The Portland Timbers fans are heralded as some of the best in the league- and they did not disappoint! I helped prepare the tifo, which is a very large banner or cards that goes up over the crowd, I received a cheat sheet of all the cheers so I could use my off-tune vocal chords, and I got to meet the iconic Timber Joey, who chainsaws off a piece of log every time the Timbers score. Oh, and I got to hang out with Timbers star Nat Borchers who has to be the most down to earth person I’ve ever met. We grabbed a bunch of Heineken, which we had thanks to our sponsor, you know, Heineken, and gave them away to fans who were camped out waiting to get into the game that was still 24 hours away. Not sure if that’s exactly legal, but, uhhh, we “allegedly” did it- okay?

Cool dude. Cool town. Cool video. Check it out above!

Brand New Demo Reel Premieres!

This past year has been a wild ride. I am officially Gold Status on both American and Delta Airlines, thanks to all my travels for UMF TV. I freshened up on mi espanol in Buenos Aires shooting for MTV. I fully embraced my inner geek (well, it’s not so inner) working at SyFy. Oh, and I got up close and personal with the fiercest people on this planet, the bull riders of the PBR, with Clash of the Cowboys. I’ve met so many interesting people and been to so many far away places that it’s still hard to grasp this is my job. How strange show business is… especially to my Midwestern family.

Luckily, all these adventures are caught on tape– also known as my brand new demo reel! Check it out!

12 Reasons D12 Should Stay in LA

With Dwight Howard exercising his free agency and weighing his options in the league this week, we at Bleacher Report put together a little video on 12 reasons why D12 is perfect in Los Angeles.

As Bleacher Report’s LA Lakers Correspondent this year, I developed a close relationship with the controversial center. While many lambasted his “child-like” attitude, I found that he used it more as a tool to not talk about the fact that the Lakers were losing. That’s understandable, even if it is a little abnormal. And that contrary to what most people are writing, Lakers fans that I spoke to outside of that disastrous Game 4 against the Spurs actually want him to stay.

Will Dwight Howard stay or go? Here’s why we think he should keep the purple and gold
