Telluride Guide: Should You Go or No?

I’m back on YouTube!

If you’re new here, I have a channel specializing in travel tips called How 2 Travelers. My favorite series on the channel is Go or No, which is an informative guide of a place that concludes with my honest assessment about the destination. This can cause a bit of controversy, but I’ve never been one to shy away from a bit of fun discussion.

What do I think will be the most controversial part of this review? The fact that I DIDN’T like award-winning Brown Dog Pizza. This is the holy grail of Telluride. I’m talking two hour waits to get in. It specializes in “Detroit” style pizza (is that a thing?). I’m from Detroit! I love pizza!  What’s not to like?? Well, the pizza. OMG!! Don’t worry. I’ve got my YouTube Comment Helmet on and am ready for the trolls.

How2Travelers made it to MSN!

Rachel and I were so excited when Trium Entertainment approached us to help write and produce a segment for MSN Travel. We’ve been working tirelessly for over a year on our travel digital series, How2Travelers, putting out new travel video content every week, so to do it for a major internet partner was pretty freaking amazing.

5 Unreal Bucket List Adventures was sooooo much fun to shoot. It went really quickly, despite Rachel and I making fun of each other the entire time. Luckily, a lot of that stuff made the final cut!

For all those doubters– who says two blonde chicks can’t be travel experts?? 😉

Check out the video HERE

Fun fact! This was shot on my birthday. And I say this without any irony, I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my big day than with my favorite travel buddy and doing something I absolutely love. <Sigh.> Or gag… Whichever suits your fancy.

What NOT To Do at the DMZ

p1020100The Ultra Family is headed back to Seoul, Korea this week for Ultra Korea, and what better way to celebrate than to reminisce about all the craziness that went down last year!

The festival was amazing (as always): Avicii, Kaskade, Tiesto, Krewella, Adventure Club, among many others graced the stage.

After the festival wrapped, we all went to Octagon nightclub to party some more. Sense a theme with these Ultra festivals?

I was one of the first ones to leave the club- at 6:30am!- and immediately went to the hotel to jump on a tour to the DMZ, or De-Militarized Zone of Korea. This is the place where North and South Korean soldiers are in a stand-off, separating the two countries. With just a quick nap on the bus ride, you can probably guess that I was probably not in the best shape… and I made a few mistakes.

What NOT To Do at the DMZ is our most viewed video to date on How 2 Travelers, and not surprisingly, our most controversial. While breaking rules that can harm people is extremely irresponsible (and NONE of that was done in this video), I think people are attracted to this piece because it’s relatable. We’re not perfect! And we don’t travel perfectly! We have all been there, trying to capture a photo at a museum or making a Queen’s Guard laugh when we are told to do the opposite. This is how people travel- sometimes following the pack, sometimes going off the beaten path. And that’s the goal of our travel series, to make the travel experience as real as possible so that even if you have never been to the specific place, you can relate to the experience.

So, take this video as an entertainment piece. And be the wiser for when you head off to the DMZ.
