Big congrats to Taylor Swift for winning Best Music Video at the 2016 Grammy Awards… but have you seen MY Bad Blood video? I mean, 16 million views and counting can’t be wrong! Clearly, the Grammys have not, or else the Barely Productions crew and I would be on that stage accepting the award. I’m just kidding Taylor. No one can beat you. Please forgive all my parody videos where I play you. Can I be part of your Squad?

Oh what joy it is to play both Ke$ha and Taylor Swift!
This was the perfect way to end the crazy, wild ride that has been 2015. 
After a full day of hosting at The QYOU, I jumped on a red eye to NYC, got into a taxi, and made my way to the YouTube Space right above the bustling Chelsea Market, where I was immediately thrown into hair and makeup for Ke$ha…It took all of five minutes. 
Now, normally, rocking up to a shoot after being on a plane for six hours isn’t the best look, but apparently that’s exactly what they were going for! Yeah, a part of me was like, “Come on guys- please tell me I don’t look THAT crazy when I get off a plane!” Apparently I do. #WavyHairDontCare
After pretending to be drunk for the morning as Ke$ha, I switched into full Taylor Swift mode. And by switched, I mean I became completely innocent and naive. This meant it took at least 10 takes to figure out how to properly flip someone off. I’m not joking. To the right is the photographic proof of my innocence (I’m the one in the blonde wig). I believe this “lapse in judgement” was really a Christmas present to my parents, because after all the crazy videos I’ve put my family through, at least they’d be proud to know I haven’t mastered the art of flipping someone off… yet! Then I showed everyone what these guns were made of by hoisting up the amazing Mark Douglas for way too long- and voila!- the perfect Christmas anthem and photo thumbnail!

My alter ego – Ke$ha 2.0 – is back!
This time, the Barely Political crew and I take on the infectious Ke$ha – Pitbull song Timber. The parody was shot over two days in New York City. It was pretty surreal, because while I was filming in this itty, bitty bikini, there was a full-on blizzard going on outside! And that blizzard was none other than the Polar Vortex Part Deux!
For those who are curious about the wardrobe choice – specifically the sheet hanging over my bottom- we were just being true to the original. Our theory is that the outfit was a little too revealing (you think!) and the real Ke$ha asked to have something added to cover up. This is just a theory and in no way authenticated by anyone close to the production. 😉

Usually I am starring in parody music videos, but this time around I am in an actual music video. Sure, it was difficult trying to be serious for a change, but don’t worry, I got this whole “sleeping beauty” thing down.
Special thanks to Baby E for a great day on set. I had the honor of listening to both versions of “Sugar Don’t Let Me Down”– one with auto-tune and one without- and they both rock. I look forward to more from him in the future!
I may be known for my take on Ke$ha, but my favorite parody is definitely this Taylor Swift one for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”. Shot at the height of her Jake Gyllenhaal- Conor Kennedy love triangle/backlash, we came to our own conclusions about Taylor’s love life. Things kept on not working out, because she is actually Gollum. I know, you were thinking this, too.
I love this parody because I saw a lot of me in the character. Stay with me here. For those of you who have never had the pleasure of a late night giggle fest with me, I can get downright crazy- of the silly kind. I love to act really nerdy, jump around and do weird things, and basically make a complete fool out of myself for the enjoyment of others. So, acting like a crazy person toward a really hot guy and then slipping into a Sci-Fi character is kind of like a typical Sunday night for me. Need proof? This is a crazy video on so many levels. But, it’s even crazier how freaking ESP we were on Taylor Swift’s love life. We were all joking on set that Taylor Swift would break up with Conor Kennedy before the video came out, and she broke up with him a week after we posted it online. Then, what’s really funny, is the guy who plays Conor Kennedy in our video actually plays Harry Styles in the other Key of Awesome parodies. Creepy coincidence, right? And because weird things happen in three’s, the first week live online our parody had gone “platinum”, kind of like how Taylor Swift’s new album “Red” went platinum in seven days. Okay, the third one is a stretch, but still it’s fun to think about.
