October is a big month! Today was the premiere of Vacation Creation and it’s also the first day of Plan a Cruise Month. Yep, October is Plan A Cruise Month!  After spending the last few weeks filming on a variety of cruises, I am so happy to let you guys know that the cruise industry is kicking off the annual #CruiseSmile #Sweepstakes to celebrate.. which means you can win a free cruise!

Now through October 31st, enter your best #CruiseSmile selfie each day for a chance to win one cruise vacation of choice each week in October. The picture doesn’t have to be you on a cruise, but it does have to include a smile. 😉

To enter, upload your “cruise smile” selfie at www.CruiseSmile.org and share the entry with friends. For more chances to win, post your photo on Twitter and/or Instagram using #CruiseSmile and #sweepstakes and share your #CruiseSmile with friends to earn even more entries into the sweepstakes.

Whether it’s swimming through the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean or Tahiti, visiting palaces in Saint Petersburg or Sweden, or going to big metropolises like Shanghai and Hong Kong- this is a wonderful way to see the world. Good luck!

  • Are TSA Scanner Radiation Levels Dangerous?

I am so proud of this video!

As the black sheep daughter of a radiologist (because what kind of a profession is TV Hosting anyway?!), I felt like this video was the culmination of my father-daughter relationship. I spent over an hour on the phone with my dad, who explained the ins-and-outs of radiation to me. He told me a lot of incredible information that didn’t make the cut – like did you know that milli, of millirems, comes from the Latin word for mile, because the length of a mile was supposedly the distance of 1,000 Roman soldier steps? #NerdAlert Now you know where it comes from.

This video took a ton of time to research and edit, but it was worth the wait, because it is filled with a ton of really cool- and valuable- information. Well, if you think science is cool, which, for the record, it is! My favorite factoid was learning that humans give off more radiation than a scanner! This is why I’m thankful a sleep alone.

If you feel inspired, check out the American Nuclear Society’s website to calculate how much radiation you get per year. I’m at 553 so far.

Coffee Made Out Of Poop Actually Tastes Good!

You gotta love traveling- you do things half way around the world that you would never think of doing at home. In fact, you pay money to do things half way around the world that you wouldn’t even try for free at home!

    This is Exhibit A.

I was in Bali for the inaugural Ultra Beach Bali, and on my off day, I decided to go around the island. A DJ told me about the Kopi Luwak coffee aka cat poop coffee aka the most expensive coffee in the world. I had to try it! And, well, it was shockingly really yummy. It was smooth, strong, and didn’t have a bitter aftertaste. I’m also the type of gal that likes my coffee black and my Scotch straight, so take my opinion for what it’s worth. And yes, I hope you’re impressed by my beverage choices.

  • Bad Blood Won Best Music Video at The Grammys – What About My Parody Video?

Big congrats to Taylor Swift for winning Best Music Video at the 2016 Grammy Awards… but have you seen MY Bad Blood video? I mean, 16 million views and counting can’t be wrong! Clearly, the Grammys have not, or else the Barely Productions crew and I would be on that stage accepting the award. I’m just kidding Taylor. No one can beat you. Please forgive all my parody videos where I play you. Can I be part of your Squad?

  • How 2 Travelers 2.0!

    banner-youtubesWebsite

It’s a New Year and now it’s a New YouTube channel! Well, kind of..  Welcome to How 2 Travelers 2.0! I’m so excited to finally put up the brand new banner, icon, and moving graphics on my How 2 Travelers YouTube channel.

This is such a big moment for me as a Content Creator. Last year was a whirlwind year: I starred in my own travel icon-youtubesWebsiteshow on HLN called Vacation Chasers, I pulled double duty as Host and Senior Producer at The QYOU, and I tripled my social media outreach to over 300,000 people! This is in large part thanks to years of hard work on YouTube, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to give you guys beautiful new graphics to look at when you tune in.

Travel has been my passion- and my identity- since I was a teenager. It’s also one of the hardest genres to book as a host and producer. This is why YouTube is such a gift, because it allows those with the drive, skill, and determination to show the world what we can do! After years of creating content on my own, I teamed up with Rachel Rudwall and re-named my channel as How 2 Travelers. It has been such a success! We put together over 100 episodes and were plucked up from YouTube to star HLN’s Vacation Chasers. Now, due to these successes, Rachel has chosen to delve deeper into off YouTube opportunities (Go Rach!) and I wish her the best of luck. Not only am I continuing the channel solo, but it’s shinier and more professional than ever! I hope you love the new look and make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to get weekly travel tips!
